Know your scoop before the clock starts

A clear plan for a varied training week.

Strength work, technical practice, and conditioning can ask different things of the same class. Start with a pre-workout you can evaluate from the label and a routine you have already tried in training.

Ignite puts the caffeine amount and individual ingredient doses in view. That makes it easier to compare your scoop with the rest of your day, including coffee and other caffeinated drinks.

What makes a pre-workout fit CrossFit?

Look for a disclosed caffeine amount, clear ingredient doses, and timing that works with your class and sleep schedule. CrossFit workouts vary in movements and duration; a supplement decision should fit your whole routine.

01

Strength and skill

Read the day’s plan before class. Technique, warm-up sets, and your coach’s instructions still guide the session. Keep notes on how a new routine feels before using it on a heavy lifting day.

02

The conditioning piece

A WOD is the workout of the day; “metcon” usually describes its metabolic conditioning work. Know whether you are preparing for a short effort, intervals, or a longer session, then organize food and fluids around it.

03

The rest of the day

Count your caffeine from all sources and consider when you plan to sleep. An early class and a late class can call for different choices, even when the workout on the whiteboard is identical.

What is in a serving of Ignite?

One scoop contains the active ingredients below. Check the label on your selected flavor for its complete formula, other ingredients, directions, and warnings.

Ingredient Per scoop
Caffeine anhydrous 150 mg
L-citrulline malate 2:1 3 g
L-tyrosine 2 g
CarnoSyn® beta-alanine 1.5 g
Rhodiola root 500 mg
DMAE bitartrate 200 mg
Calcium 80 mg
Magnesium 35 mg
Vitamin B6 10 mg
Vitamin B12 1,500 mcg
BioPerine® black pepper 5 mg

Start with the caffeine amount.

Ignite contains 150mg of caffeine anhydrous per serving. Caffeine has evidence for improving several aspects of exercise performance, but individual responses differ. A particular dose cannot promise a personal best or a certain WOD score.

Read the full dose, not just the ingredient name.

Ignite lists 3g of L-citrulline malate 2:1, 2g of L-tyrosine, and 1.5g of CarnoSyn® beta-alanine. Use those amounts when comparing labels; a named ingredient alone does not tell you how much a formula provides.

The calcium and magnesium amounts are listed as the minerals themselves. Their lactate-containing ingredient weights are different quantities; avoid treating the two as interchangeable.

Before class, not a last-second decision

Build your pre-WOD routine.

Follow Ignite’s label directions and test your timing during ordinary training. Plan around the beginning of your warm-up, your usual meals, and the time of day you train.

Early-morning class

Lay out your kit, shaker, and breakfast plan the night before. If you normally drink coffee, account for it before adding a caffeinated pre-workout. Make one change at a time so you can tell what suits you.

Evening class

Consider whether caffeine fits the time left before bed. If caffeine affects your sleep, choosing a caffeine-free routine can be the better fit. Prepare your food, water, and gym bag without relying on another stimulant serving.

Competition or the Open

Bring a routine you have already used successfully in training. Write down your plan for food, fluids, and caffeine across the entire day. Multiple events are a reason to plan carefully, rather than automatically taking another serving for each workout.

Keep a simple training note

Record class time, food beforehand, caffeine sources, how the session felt, and that night’s sleep. Compare a few similar sessions before deciding whether the routine is useful for you.

Respect the label

Use only as directed. If the label’s warnings apply to you, get appropriate guidance before using it. For caffeine-sensitive athletes or late training sessions, skipping caffeinated pre-workout is a valid choice.

Give each product a clear job

Pre-workout, fuel, and protein.

Your supplement choice should answer a specific question. Start with the food and fluid plan for the day, then decide what would make that plan more convenient.

  1. Before training: Ignite

A caffeinated pre-workout with disclosed ingredient amounts. Choose it when the formula and caffeine level fit your preferences, class timing, and label directions.

  2. Carbohydrates and fluids

Carbohydrate foods help supply training fuel. For a drink-based option, review Motion’s carbohydrate and electrolyte formula. The appropriate choice depends on the session and what you have already eaten.

  3. Daily protein: Grow

A shake can make dietary protein more convenient after class or at another meal. Our protein guide for CrossFit includes a daily range calculator and meal ideas.

Your questions, answered

Ignite FAQs

Do I need pre-workout for CrossFit?

No. You can train without a pre-workout supplement. Ignite is an optional choice for adults whose preferences, caffeine tolerance, and training schedule fit its formula and label directions. Food, fluids, sleep, and consistent training remain part of the plan.

How much caffeine is in Ignite?

One serving contains 150mg of caffeine anhydrous. Count caffeine from other drinks and supplements as well, and follow the label directions. Do not assume a familiar coffee serving has the same caffeine content.

When should I take it before class?

Follow the directions on your tub and test timing during normal training. Plan around the start of your warm-up and your usual meals. The timing that suits you may differ from someone else’s; avoid making competition day your first trial.

Can I use Ignite for an evening WOD?

Consider your sensitivity to caffeine and the time remaining before bed. Caffeine can affect sleep. If it keeps you awake, a caffeine-free routine is a better choice for late sessions.

Should I take it again for a second workout?

Do not automatically add another serving for each event or session. Follow the product’s serving limits and review all caffeine consumed that day. Plan a multi-event day around familiar meals, fluids, rest, and the label directions.

Does Ignite contain creatine?

Ignite does not contain creatine. If you want to compare a separate creatine product, see XWERKS Lift. Keep each supplement’s purpose and directions clear when building a routine.

Which flavors are available?

Ignite has Green Apple, Orange, Blue Raspberry, Watermelon, and Fruit Punch variants. The selector above shows current availability and marks sold-out flavors. Check the label on your selected flavor for all ingredients.

Should I choose Ignite, protein, or a carbohydrate drink?

Choose according to the gap you want to fill. Ignite is a caffeinated pre-workout; Grow adds dietary protein; Motion provides carbohydrates and electrolytes. You do not need every product to have a useful training routine.
